Khaled Kamel
Partner, MAHAM Consulting

Khaled Kamel is a Partner at MAHAM Management Consulting (www.mahamconsultants.com) working closely with clients to help them establish and execute profitable business plans. In addition to this, he has been a professional researcher, coach and trainer during the past few years training thousands of those who wanted to improve their positions or raise their level of performance at work in most countries across the Middle East.

Khaled’s most recent role was with Brocade where he managed the Channel on a regional level. As expected, Khaled was influential in hiring top competent Distributors and Partners exploding business growth to Five times in just two years.

Khaled worked as the Middle East, Egypt and Pakistan Regional Managing Director at Lenovo where Lenovo grew during the period of his administration to a level of unprecedented success in all fronts. Khaled was also the main planner to put Lenovo products in the retail sector.

Prior to joining Lenovo, Khaled Kamel was the Country Manager for hp in Saudi Arabia for two and a half years. Khaled joined HP in 2000 as a Business Development Manager in the Middle-East and was quickly promoted to manage the sales of HP products in the Gulf and Levant regions. Khaled proved to be instrumental to the growth of HP in those regions. Due to his vast and rapid success within HP, he was again promoted to Sales Manager covering the Middle-East.

After the 2002 merger with Compaq, Khaled was appointed as the Country Manager for HP in Iran and the Gulf region.

Khaled has been in the IT and Business fields since 1989, worked for distributors and resellers of software and hardware vendors including AutoDesk HP and IBM. He also served as an Architectural designer and site engineer responsible for the implementation of some strategic construction projects in the region and USA. The invaluable experience gained during these years undoubtedly prepared him for his productive and successful career.

Khaled holds a Bachelor degree in Architecture from USA as well as an MBA (Masters degree in Business Administration).

Khaled currently lives in the United Arab Emirates and offers consultancy and senior level sales and personal development training all over the Middle East and Africa region.

Philip Hughes
Middle East Business Start Up Consultant – Pumpkin LLC

Philip has been working in the Middle East IT Channel for over 20 years. He has been involved in 4 successful IT related Start-ups in that time. His primary skill set is the ability to advise organisations on aspects such as Route to Market and in understanding the simple Business Culture of the region.

Since October 2007, Philip has been operating as a consultant helping EU based companies commence operations in the region.

By working with companies planning to enter the Middle East markets in the very early days of their research into the market, he tailors their entry to ensure they avoid common and costly mistakes in terms of their legal structure, partnerships, location, media management or marketing.

Philip’s strengths are his core Sales & Marketing skills and his understanding of the Regional Route to Market, along with the importance of the Channel in supporting the needs of  IT users from Enterprise through to Retail levels.

Philip first came to the Middle East in 1993 where he was a member of the team that successfully built up Computer 2000 (TechData) as the region’s first broad-line IT Distribution business, selling products including Components, Software, Networking & Peripheral products.

In 1996 he started APC’s operations in the Middle East and built a hugely successful organisation providing PC & Server UPS support, before migrating the business and  channel into solution selling in the DataCentre Infrastructure market.

In 2009 he consulted in the setting up of Dubai’s first Green Integrated Solution Providers, Akhdar FZCo, who were acquired in May 2012 by Sims Recycling Solutions (SRS). He was retained by Sims to oversee the initial factory build and start of local Sales & Marketing Operations, of the new SRS operation in Jebel Ali.

He advises on IT Channel Issues in the region and has managed a number of successful projects in this field. He also speaks regularly at Industry and Channel events as well as judging annual Channel Awards.
